FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Pinehurst, NC (May 28, 2019) Veterans Guardian is honored to announce it has been named the 2019 AMVETS Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year for the state of North Carolina.
AMVETS (American Veterans), the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, represents the interests of 20 million veterans. The AMVETS Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year awards program recognizes employers from both the private sector and local, state, and federal government who have made great strides by providing employment to our Veterans. The awards program recognizes organizations based on their commitment to serving veterans through both hiring practices and community involvement.
“Veterans Guardian is honored to be recognized for our commitment of recruiting, hiring, and training veterans for work outside the military,” said Scott Greenblatt, Army Lieutenant Colonel (Ret), Founder, and CEO of Veterans Guardian.
Veterans Guardian has a tremendous track record of successfully hiring and retaining Veterans. Approximately 55% of the workforce at Veterans Guardian is classified as a Veteran. Moreover, about 44% of the staff are spouses of Veterans, or spouses of active duty. These employee demographics demonstrate the company’s commitment to hiring members of the military community. Veterans Guardian also makes significant efforts to actively recruit veterans to their workforce through job boards, career fairs, and referrals.
Additionally, Veterans Guardian takes an active role in supporting Veterans within the community. One of Veterans Guardian’s core values is to give back, which is why the company has identified and provided yearly sustainable donations to several military and Veteran organizations. The organizations include The Duskin and Stephens Foundation, Special Forces Charitable Trust, The Patriot Foundation, MOAA, Quad A, and Friends of Civil Affairs, to name a few. Contributions go towards scholarship funds as well as general funds which support Veterans. The company also supports and provides training space for Continuing the Mission, an organization that trains and places PTSD service dogs with Veterans.
Veterans Guardian was presented the North Carolina AMVETS Employer of the Year Award at the North Carolina AMVETS Convention on Saturday, June 1st. As the only recipient for the state of North Carolina, Veterans Guardian is now under consideration for the AMVETS National Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year award, which will be presented in August.
