The Patriot Foundation held its annual Soldiers Appreciation Dinner at Pinehurst Resort for 2019. Veterans Guardian is a proud corporate sponsor of the Patriot Foundation, donating over $10,000 in 2019. These funds provide scholarships for children to soldiers who have been killed, wounded, injured, or fell seriously ill. We appreciate all that the Patriot Foundation has done for military children over their lifetime.
The Patriot Foundation is an all-volunteer 501 (c-3) non-profit committed to providing college scholarships to children of servicemen and women who have been killed, wounded, or injured in the Global War on Terrorism. Originally focused on Airborne, Air Assault, and Special Operation Soldiers, they now support military families across multiple installations since September 11th 2001.
One of the most powerful moments of the dinner was a speech by Gold Star Daughter, Angelina Morales. In her moving speech, she described her life without her dad, Staff Sergeant Orlando Morales, who died in Afghanistan when she was 18 months old. Morales, a scholarship recipient, is an honor graduate of Berean Baptist Academy in Fayetteville. This year she is a freshman majoring in social work at Methodist University. Her speech praised the generosity of the Patriot Foundation.
Veterans Guardian was presented a plaque by BG(R) Ferdinand Irizarry, Executive Vice President of the Patriot Foundation.
