Veterans Guardian Proudly Supports the 2026 Moore County Walk to End Alzheimer’s as Promise Garden Sponsor
At Veterans Guardian, giving back to the communities we serve is more than a commitment—it’s part of who we are. That’s why Veterans Guardian was proud to once again participate in the 2026 Moore County Walk to End Alzheimer’s and return as a sponsor of the event’s Promise Garden.
Held September 19, 2026, at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the event brought together more than 1,200 participants united by a common goal: supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and advancing the fight to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
This year’s walk was especially meaningful, with the Moore County community raising more than $271,000, exceeding its $270,000 fundraising goal and setting a new local fundraising record. These achievements demonstrate the extraordinary impact of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations coming together for a cause that touches millions of lives.

Veterans Guardian Returns as Promise Garden Sponsor
One of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s ‘most meaningful traditions is the Promise Garden. This moving ceremony honors the personal experiences of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Veterans Guardian was proud to sponsor the Promise Garden again, continuing our tradition of supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and the Moore County community.
The Promise Garden serves as a visual reminder of why we walk and the hope that brings us together. During the ceremony, participants carry colorful flowers representing their unique connections to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Each flower tells a story:
- Blue: Represents someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.
- Purple: Honors someone who has lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Yellow: Represents someone currently supporting or caring for a person living with Alzheimer’s.
- Orange: Represents individuals who support the cause and envision a world without Alzheimer’s.
Together, these flowers create a powerful symbol of remembrance, compassion, solidarity, and hope. For Veterans Guardian, sponsoring the Promise Garden is an opportunity to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s while standing alongside the families and caregivers who face this disease’s challenges every day. We are proud to help create a space where memories are honored, stories are shared, and hope for the future continues to grow.
Why Supporting Alzheimer’s Awareness Matters to Veterans Guardian
At Veterans Guardian, our mission is to help veterans navigate the VA disability benefits process and pursue the benefits they earned through military service. We understand the importance of advocacy, compassion, and providing meaningful support to individuals and families facing life’s challenges.
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia can create significant emotional, physical, and financial burdens for families, including those within the veteran community. For some veterans, factors such as traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder may be associated with an increased risk of dementia later in life.
These concerns make Alzheimer’s education, early recognition, caregiver support, and continued research especially important. By participating in the Moore County Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Veterans Guardian reinforces its commitment to supporting not only veterans but also the broader communities where our employees, clients, and their families live. Our involvement reflects our belief that strong communities are built when people show up for one another.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s: A Nationwide Movement
While the Moore County Walk is local, it is part of a much larger national movement. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings together communities across the United States to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. In North Carolina alone, more than 210,000 residents are living with the disease. These numbers represent individuals, families, caregivers, friends, and neighbors whose lives are affected by Alzheimer’s every day.
Funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s help the Alzheimer’s Association advance its mission by supporting:
- Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
- Caregiver education and resources.
- Support services for individuals and families.
- Awareness and early detection initiatives.
- Advocacy for improved access to Alzheimer’s care and treatment.
The success of the Moore County Walk shows how local action drives national progress. Every donation, volunteer, sponsor, and participant plays an important role.
More Than a Walk: A Community United by Hope
For many families, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is deeply personal. Some participants walk to honor a parent or grandparent living with Alzheimer’s. Others walk to honor a loved one who has passed away. Caregivers walk to recognize the daily challenges and sacrifices involved in supporting someone with dementia. And many walk because they believe future generations deserve a world without Alzheimer’s disease.
At Veterans Guardian, we recognize the importance of these personal connections. Our continued sponsorship of the Promise Garden represents more than financial support. It symbolizes our commitment to remembering those we have lost, honoring those living with the disease today, and supporting the people working toward a brighter future. Seeing the Moore County community come together and exceed its fundraising goal is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished through compassion and collective action.
Thank You, Moore County, for Making a Difference
Raising more than $271,000 is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the generosity of the Moore County community. As a returning Promise Garden Sponsor, Veterans Guardian is honored to stand alongside a community dedicated to making a difference. Veterans Guardian thanks the Alzheimer’s Association, event organizers, volunteers, fundraising teams, local businesses, caregivers, and everyone who helped make the 2026 Moore County Walk to End Alzheimer’s a success. Together, we are helping raise awareness, support families, and advance the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
